Tzel Natui is an ensemble that draws from
ancient Jewish, Classical Arab, Turkish and ethnic music. The
band (above) performs on traditional musical instruments in use
from 1000 BC up until today.
The members of Tzel Natui draw inspiration from the sounds and
styles of music they heard as children at home... Andulusian,
Yemenite, Iraqi and Western music. Tzel Natui's dinner workshop
for a Birhright Israel group (below) included an explanation of
each piece's scales, rhythm and history. The group of 100
participants also had a chance to "jam" to the exotic sounds
using dozens of darbuka's and oud's brought by the band.
And to set just the right mood... the "Blues for Peace Hafla"
(party) of Mid Eastern music and food was held in a Beduin tent
on the outskirts of Jerusalem along with platters of traditionals
Mid Eastern dishes. candles and drinks. For info, contact, Tzel Natui.
