"Popeye" comic book in Hebrew from 1917, whoops 1971.
Note the funky green cover. The Israeli economy underwent a
rapid period of inflation in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

shekel, which in turn became the new shekel. (got that?!)
In desperation, people turned to currency they could trust
- spinach!
