John Lee Hooker... began his career as a Mississippi country bluesman, and quickly became a leading electric blues guitarist and singer rivaled only by B.B. King in fame and talent. John Lee Hooker recorded his first hit song "Boogie Chillen" in 1948. Hooker's other great blues songs included "Boom Boom", sung by the Animals as well as "One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer", "I'm in the Mood", "Walkin' the Boogie" and more.
Whether playing solo in 1960 or with the Muddy Waters Band in the late 1970s and early 1980s, John Lee Hooker wrote strong, honest blues lyrics with compelling rhythms and blues guitar riffs... Later, John Lee Hooker appeared in the Blues Brothers movie and won a grammy award for his participation in "The Healer" along with Keith Richards and Carlos Santana. Hooker recorded over 100 albums and was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His songs, "Boogie Chillen" and "Boom Boom" are listed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
