Grant Green married funky blues, jazz and R&B with roots in Charlie Christian and recordings with avant garde jazz musicians and funk! You name it... and Grant Green played it on guitar... It all started with bluesman Lou Donaldson, that recommended Grant Green to Blue Note records in about 1961. Grant Green played with the great organ jazz trio's Brother Jack McDuff, Baby Face Willette, Big John Patton and Larry Young. 

In some ways, Grant Green is the unsung heroe of jazz guitar that rarely got the respect he deserved in the jazz press. There are few articles about him.. It's sad for a man that performed with Stanley Turrentine, Yusef Lateef, Joe Henderson, Hank Mobley, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones...
